Combining a 12 Megapixel 8th Generation Super CCD with a powerful Fujinon 5x wide angle optical zoom lens, a 2.7" high-resolution 230,000 pixel wide angle view LCD, the FinePix F100fd is one of the most sophisticated compact digital cameras Fujifilm has ever produced.

It offers the most advanced technologies available, including Wide Dynamic Range, Dual Image Stabilisation, Face Detection 3.0 Technology with automatic red-eye removal and ISO settings of up to an unprecedented ISO 12800 - so missing great shots is not an option.

The secret to the FinePix F100fd's class-leading image quality is Fujifilm's unique Real Photo Technology (RPT). The guiding principles behind RPT are simple; to set the highest possible standards for overall image quality, to expand digital photography opportunities and to give users fewer wasted shots.
With the human eye as the ideal, Real Photo Technology cameras are designed from the ground up to capture 'real' photographs with stunning quality - giving you the power to capture the moment exactly as the eye sees it, no matter how challenging the shooting conditions.

NEW Faster Face Detection 3.0
The FinePix F100fd is also equipped with Fujifilm's proprietary Face Detection 3.0 technology featuring automatic red-eye removal.
As with the original version of Face Detection, it can detect up to 10 human faces in a scene in as little as .035 seconds, even if the subjects are in motion.
Now the FinePix F100fd is able to identify faces at much more extreme camera angles than before.
It does not matter if the faces are moving, tilted, turned or out of the center of the frame, the expanded range of Face Detection 3.0 will find faces in an instant and optimise the focus and exposure to deliver the perfect portrait.
After the shot is taken, the system instantly corrects red-eye as fast as 0.1 second and then saves both the original and the corrected image file automatically.

Say goodbye to red eye for good
Red-eye is the single biggest reason why the best portraits are ruined. The FinePix F100fd is among the first of Fujifilm's compact digital cameras to offer automatic red eye removal, advancing the company's acclaimed Face Detection system one step further. The FinePix F100fd uses the system to find and instantly correct any red eye from every face in the frame.

The FinePix F100fd red eye removal system is not confused by lips or red coloured jewellery, as some other systems can be, as it works in tandem with Fujifilm's Face Detection system to identify eyes and nothing else. Letting the camera do this retouching is so much quicker and easier than struggling at home with a paintbrush on a PC!

No more blurred images
The FinePix F100fd features Fujifilm's Dual Image Stabilisation mode, which combines a mechanically stabilised Super CCD sensor with high ISO sensitivities, (up to an amazing ISO 12,800), for total anti-blur protection.
The combination of these technologies reduces the blurring effect of both hand-shake and subject movement even further to provide the highest quality digital pictures yet, with sharp, clean and clear results no matter what the shooting conditions.

Intelligent Flash
This camera continues the Fujifilm tradition of offering the user choice about lighting, and those who prefer to use flash will benefit from Fujifilm's Intelligent Flash system.
For those occasions when flash is required, Fujifilm's Intelligent Flash system sets the power output to achieve natural foreground illumination with balanced background exposure.
Avoiding both the messy background blur of 'slow-sync' flash, and the stark contrast of conventional flash, Intelligent Flash results in visibly more pleasing, natural looking photos.

Dual Shot Mode
In this selectable mode, the FinePix F100fd quickly shoots two images in rapid succession – one with the flash and one without – and saves both. This convenient function lets users perform a comparison at their convenience and select the most pleasing image.

Portrait Enhancer
The FinePix F100fd features a powerful automatic retouching system which gives skin tones a silky-smooth texture.
Mimicking a professional photo studio setting, by using Face Detection and preset camera settings, Portrait Enhancer minimises fine lines and small skin blemishes for smooth, natural looking portraits.

Special Scene Modes
The FinePix F100fd has 16 pre-programmed scenes, including a special underwater scene mode for use with a special underwater casing and a Blog mode that automatically reduces the size of copied images for easy posting to a Blog, Web page or email attachment.
Simply choose a Scene Position that suits the situation and you have the ideal settings for everything from shutter speed and exposure to white balance at your fingertips ready to capture the image.
The display of helpful descriptions of each mode and Scene Position make it simple to explore the versatility of the F100fd when faced with any photo opportunity.

Continuous Shooting Mode
The F100fd allows you to shoot up to 12 frames in a burst* (at 5 frames per second), even if the subject is moving. This fantastic mode therefore gives you 5 times the chance of capturing that one special moment.

Movie Capture
When a still image isn't sufficient, the FinePix F100 fd’s movie mode, at 30 frames per second, captures movie clips with sound that are limited in length only by the size of memory card used.

Playback features
Thanks to Fujifilm's proprietary Super CCD technology delivering a stunning 12 megapixel resolution, you are able to crop and enlarge any part of your captured image without experiencing any loss of quality.
Once you’ve captured your group portrait you can use the handy ‘Zoom Up’ feature, which allows you to detect faces in playback mode so that you can check them one by one and ensure that you have captured the image as you intended it.
If you spy a priceless expression amongst your group portrait that stands out from the crowd, then simply select the built in ‘Cropping’ function, which will allow you to automatically crop and save the selected portrait in the camera.
There’s no waiting for high-resolution images to load during play back. The FinePix F100fd can display images at full resolution at 10 frames per second.

Micro thumbnail view
The 2.7-inch LCD screen allows you to view your images comfortably. It displays your pictures in a number of alternative ways and enables you to navigate up to 100 thumbnail images in a 10 x 10 array.

In addition you can bring your photos to life by creating your own slide shows by selecting to show images of close up portraits, or view multiple images in a scrapbook style. You can even add a soundtrack to further enhance your image viewing pleasure.
