8.0 Megapixels
An 8.0 Megapixel sensor records your images in full, vivid detail - so you are free to crop, enlarge, resize and enjoy every image.

4x optical Image Stabilizer lens
A bright 4x optical zoom lens, gives you the flexibility to capture images at distance without sacrificing quality. The optical Image Stabilizer (IS) counters the effects of camera shake, helping you capture blur-free images in all situations.

Motion Detection Technology
Part of High ISO Auto, Motion Detection Technology uses Face Detection Technology, the optical Image Stabilizer and information about scene brightness to identify subject motion and camera-shake. Canon’s own system optimises ISO for blur-reduction, whilst maximising image quality.

Face Detection Technology
Face Detection Technology ensures superb people shots by automatically setting optimum focus, exposure, flash and white balance. Face Select and Track lets you choose and track your primary subject, so you never lose a special face in the crowd.

Red-Eye Correction
Red-Eye Correction quickly and easily removes red-eye in camera. It can be set to remove red-eye automatically as you shoot or in playback mode, making it simple to achieve natural looking eyes even when using the flash.

DIGIC III and iSAPS
Canon's DIGIC III processor provides lightning quick responses, superb image quality and advanced noise reduction for sharper, clearer images. iSAPS technology uses shooting scene data to optimise camera settings even before a shot is taken.

2.5" LCD screen
The bright 2.5" LCD screen is ideal for easy group viewing. Night Display mode aids visibility in low light while a selectable Grid Line display helps with composition. The optical viewfinder (OVF) lets you switch off the screen to preserve battery life.

Shooting Modes and My Colors
19 shooting modes range from full manual control to Easy mode for ultra-simple operation, and scene modes including Sunset. In addition, My Colors in-camera photo effects such as Black & White or sepia can be applied during shooting.

Movie Options
Movie modes include Long Play (LP) for VGA (20fps) clips that use half the normal memory card space.

Comprehensive range of accessories
A complete range of optional accessories includes wide and tele-converter lenses, a close-up lens and slave flash for more creative compact photography.
